9 months, already?!

Can you believe Ian was 9 months old yesterday?! We gave up on trying to take his monthly picture with him sitting down. Sitting just isn't something Ian has time for anymore!

Let's recap, shall we?

I'm really slacking here.

It's been about a month since I updated, I apologize. We had a very eventful month to say the least! The most exciting thing was Ian had his first of many trips to Green Bay and Lambeau Field!

We went up to watch training camp and had tickets to Packer's Family Night. Grandma and Grandpa Corcoran, Lola Betch, Tita Elizabeth and Tita Yollie all joined us.

We stayed at quite possibly the most ghetto hotel in all of Green Bay, thanks to me lating very late reservations. We not quite sure about what exactly was going on in the parking lot all weekend, but we think it was some sort of redneck rummage sale.

We arrived up there Saturday early afternoon and caught the end of practice. It was soo unbelieveably hot sitting in the sun, right around 90 degrees!

After practice, I wanted Ian to get some autographs for his mini football, so being the mean mom I am, we waited in line for almost an hour (in a shaded tent, though!) to get autographs from Charles Woodsen, Noah Herron and Atari Bigby.

We had dinner at Red Robin, then back to the hotel to relax and watch the Brewer Game.

Sunday morning we got up and after breakfast and Ian's nap, we headed down to Lambeau to start taking in the sights and sounds. There were protests to bring Brett Favre back. We later found out he would be flying in to Green Bay that night to discuss his future with GM Ted Thompson and Coach Mike McCarthy.

There was so much to see around the Lambeau Field area! The pro shop was just packed, but fought our way through and bought a few things there.

Before long it was time to line-up at the gates to get into the stadium. You would never believe that this was just an intra-squad scrimmage by the size of the crowd! Just minutes after getting into the building, it started to rain.

On field activities were set to begin at 5:30 so we planned to eat dinner inside and go take our seats. Unfortunetly there were severe storms and we spent the next 3 hours up on the 3 floor of the Atrium at Leinie's Lodge trying to keep Ian entertained and snacking.

The one thing he REALLY loved doing... watching the glass elevator go up and down!

FINALLY, not long after the scheduled start of the scrimmage, the rain and lightning let up and we were able to take our seats! The stadium was packed, but would you expect anything less from Packer fans?

Ian held up like a champ, even though it was WELL passed his bedtime. He was crabby on and off for a little while, but made it all the way through the scrimmage and we were able to leave with a happy baby just as the fire works started.

The next day everyone had since returned home so it was just Charles, Ian and I to explore Green Bay a little bit more before heading home. We went to the pro shop again, then walked around the Lambeau Field Atrium waiting for Curly's Pub to open for lunch.

How long do you think before they take this sign down and burn it at the stake?

Ian took a nice nap as we waited.

Lunch at Curly's Pub was excellent. We watched the parking lot below as people started lining up in hopes to catch a glimpse of Brett Favre as he had a scheduled meeting at noon. Ian wanted to see what was up down there, so we went to go see for ourselves.

After waiting for 45 long minutes in the blazing hot sun, we concluded Brett had slipped through a back door. We left Lambeau and headed back home to Madison.

Even though Ian won't remember it, Charles and I will never forget the first time we were able to show him Lambeau Field!
