The Windy City!

As most of my posts are, this one is a few days late. Ian and I visited Chicago last week with Lola Betch, Lola the Great, Tita Laure and a distant Filipino relative of Charles', Cecille! It was Ian's first time there and his first time out of state and he did great! He slept most of the ride down and woke up just as we were getting into the big city.

First stop was the Sear's Tower. We went up onto the 103rd floor viewing area and had a great view of the city. It was such a perfect day! The sky was blue and the air was clear, you could see for what seemed like a hundred miles! Ian really seemed to enjoy looking out the windows. I also had the unique experience of nursing him up there! Hey, when a baby's gotta eat, a baby's gotta eat! Tita Laure was nice enough to find us hiding in the corner and take a snap shot of it, I will spare you and not post it.

Next we went to the lake front of Lake Michigan and had a packed lunch. Ian was afraid of the seaguls, he cried when they came near!

After lunch we walked over to the Shed Aquarium. This was definetly Ian's favorite part of the day. He LOVED looking at the fish in the tanks. He had a small meltdown as we were waiting for the dolphin show to start, but we survived.

On the way home, we stopped at IKEA! It was both mine and Ian's first time there and holy cow, I can't wait to go back! I don't know how we made it out of there with only a new rug for the bathroom. I did however get plenty of great ideas for when we have to upgrade Ian's nursery to a "kids" room.

Anyhow, it was a great trip and we look forward to a return someday, hopefully Charles can come next time! Oh and did I mention, Soldier Field is the ugliest football stadium I've ever seen in my life.

It's been a while

While Ian is napping, I thought I'd drop in and type up a quick post. This month has flown by. I can't believe Ian will be 8 months old in just about a week. Whoever said "The days drag on but the months fly by" was 100% on the money. As much as I LOVE being home with Ian everyday, it's very hard with Charles working so many hours. We can only go for so many walks, and play with so many toys over and over before I start counting down the minutes till Charles is home.
Ian is now crawling full force and getting into EVERYTHING!!

Grandma and Grandpa Corcoran came over this weekend to help us get the house a little more baby-safe. My main concern was Ian's bookcase falling over on him, so Grandpa (my dad) anchored it to the wall. We has such a nice visit with them! The highlight for me was definetly Wii bowling on Saturday night! We were all so into it and it was a blast!! I must brag though, I won both times!

Tomorrow Ian, Lola Betch, Lola the Great, Tita Laure and I are going on a visit to Chicago for some sightseeing and to check out the museums. This will be Ian's first time there! I'm already fretting about trying to stick to his basic eating/nap schedule, but one day off won't kill him. He's usually a pretty good napper in the stroller, so hopefully that will hold true for tomorrow!

Ian has sprouted two new teeth! They are up on top, but not the two front ones which normally come through next, they're the two on each side of them! What a funny little grin he has now! I need to try and get a good picture of it, but he's not too cooperative about it!

Anyhow, just a few pictures of Ian on the swing with Grandpa pushing him.

More time on the swings!

I love this picture because you can see how beautiful his brown eyes are!
Just being cute little Ian!Loving time with Daddy! And Mommy!

We've been a little busy!

Wow, how time flies! I haven't posted in such a long time, but with good reason. Within the past few weeks Ian has become a moving man!! He's inchworming all over the place, pulling up to standing and cruising around! With all that he's gotten quite a few bumps and bangs from taking some tumbles! I've been having to watch him like a hawk all day! On top of all that, work is picking up for Charles, so he's been working tons and tons of overtime.

Let's see... in the past month we:

*Celebrated Mother's Day, which I was totally spoiled on a got a brand spankin' new DSLR camera to take tons and tons of QUALITY pictures of my little man!

*Went to the Milwaukee County Zoo with a few moms I met on the Mom's Corner chat board. We had such a blast and we're planning another get together at the Johnson Creek Outlet Mall on June 28th!

*Charles' sister, Elizabeth, graduated from UWL with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, so we were able to spend a day in La Crosse reliving all our college memories and showing Ian where mommy and daddy went to school.

*And then just had our usual day to day adventures, fingerpainting, playing on the swings, and enjoying the FINALLY nice weather!

Ian will be 7 months tomorrow (holy crap!) I can't believe he is closer to being one year old than a newborn! I've already taken a few of his monthly pics, because frankly it's a struggle to get him to sit still so I usually have to do it over a 2 day period!

I want to post a lot of the pictures I've taken over the past month, so I'll dedicate an entire post just to them! Enjoy!
